(More customer reviews)Call it a cloud call it a central storage location. The Javelin delivers exactly what it claims. I basically loaded up 12TB of space and moved all my digital music and videos over. The good thing is that with 4 drives I can use RAID 5 and know that if one drive fails it can rebuild build. The speed is about 45MB/s over my wired network, so its fast enough for me to have several HD streams.
The build is nice. It plastic, yes, I know, but well built and looks a lot better than the metal ones. The unit is in my living room so the look is good. The fan is also quite quiet and doesn't bother me when I'm sitting in the living room and watching a living room.
It has BT client which is nice, too.
Overall it is pretty cool unit that makes my life better to know have back up all centralized. Oh, and it has TimeMachine so my room-mate can back up his MACBOOK using that program.
I wish the utility was a little more useful but thats fine. I prefer to use the web interface anyways.
