(More customer reviews)I have swam off and on for fitness throughout my life and never had music to get me though tough workouts. I was really excited to finally have an MP3 player while I swam. I it took me a while to settle on a MP3 player and I finally decided that I liked this one the best. When I took it out of the package I was surprised at the size of the headphone wires, not only were they short (which was not a problem when I was swimming), but the wire gage was really small. I was also disappointed that I could only use the headphones provided while swimming as I was hoping that I could switch out other headphones if I was not happy with the ones that it had. Other than that, I had no complaints before I used it. It was really easy to transfer the songs on the SD card and pretty easy to use. I also liked that it clipped to the back of my goggles as it seemed to be the best place to put it. And the buttons were really easy to navigate even with it behind your head.
When I go in the water, it took some adjusting to get the headphones to work properly. I had to tuck part of them under my swim cap to keep them in my ear and prevent water from getting in. Besides one of my earphones falling out, it seemed to work well for a while, but after about 40 mins the songs started skipping after 20 seconds in, and the volume would randomly turn up. I figured that with all the water leaking in the ear buds that could have caused a short to force things to go crazy. When it stopped doing this, I didn't think anything of it and decided to keep swimming.
On the third use, one of the ear phones started to only play static, so I stopped my workout and played with it to try to fix it. After turning it off to try to fix things, it would not play when I turned it on, and upon pressing any button, it turned off again. Unfortunately after 2.5 workouts, it stopped working. I had high hopes for this product, but waterproof does not appear to be its forte.
