(More customer reviews)When I ordered this product, I was skeptical that the sound would be compromised in the water, and wondered if my ipod nano would stay dry during water sports.
The case is light but sturdy. It's a little too bulky to strap to your arm with the included arm band. The stiff cord for the headphones sticks out a bit far. Sometimes while swimming laps, the earphones come out of my ears. During my first swim with it, I had to stop several times to make adjustments. I do better strapping it to my swimsuit rather than use the arm band.
The turning wheel on the swim case is actually easier to use than the wheel on the ipod nano.You can quickly and easily choose your playlist, scroll through songs, or use the other functions.
The headphones felt funny in my ears at first, but I quickly got used to them. The sound quality is better than Apple's white ear buds that come with the ipod nano.
Even the video camera function works while the ipod nano is in its swim case! I was amazed that the sound would be picked up while the ipod was under water. It does a nice job.
I would highly recommend this product to anyone who spends time in the water or at the beach.

(More customer reviews)I originally gave Overboard a high rating because it worked but two months after I purchased it it leaked. It was used only a few times while swimming in a YMCA pool. It wasn't abused or stressed in anyway but it still leaked and ruined the Ipod. I contacted the company because I felt it still must be under warranty. I discovered the company is located in the UK. They stated to mail the item to them; they would send it out to an independent lab and have it tested to see if the product was at fault.
I wasn't going to waste the time because I got the impression the company was going to admit fault but I thought I'd provide my point and I sent it anyway. I mailed the item to the address provided and also put it to the attention of the person I had been emailing, 5 days later they received the package. Since I never heard from them I contacted the same person a few weeks after they received the package. He stated he never received it. Well that convenient especially since the company received the package 5 days after I mailed and I put it to the attention of a specific person, which I had been emailing.
All of their products are made from a thin flexible plastic. I actually purchased this for my mother to use while at the pool. I've used a H2O product for over 3 years and never had a problem. After this incident I purchased another H2O product for my mother. It works great and the company is located in San Diego, CA.Here's two other reviews I located on other web sites:

Eco Extreme Rugged and Waterproof Case with Built-In Speaker for iPod, iPhone and MP3 Players (Orange model: gdi-aqcse100) by Grace Digital Review

(More customer reviews)Quick overview. Good speaker Just what i was expecting maybe bettter.
Design- Nice hefty design. I got the orange one very pleased with choice. Not bring orange but a nice dark orange. This way i can see it in the grass but also look cool. The only thing i would change, i knew this going in, would be to put a bigger D-clip on it with some 550 cord. The plastic loop that the current clip uses is kinda small.
Durability- It feels durable and will take some abuse. I have not tested it's waterpoofness but it has a rubber seal and the latches seem strong. They also has a button lock on them which is nice. I would take care on rocks though because it is plastic on the face and back. Plastic is brittle so it way survive a drop on the ground but not on the rocks.
Sound- As expected it's not earbleeding loud but loud enough. It should be fine for a group of people huddling around a table eating or playing cards. I compared it to my other portable speaker its about the same but with more bass. I got this for its waterproofness, size and durability not for the sound. I like that it only needs 3 AA batteries.
If you want a larger speaker that is also water resistant and durable try Sangean U-1 or U-3. They seem like larger and louder sound systems that are tough. But their line ins are on the outside. If you want a fully enclosed unit try the fatbox. but all three are large. I choose Sangean because unlike other rugged sound systems they run off regular batteries not ones for power tools.
Update- For some reason it sounds louder now. it could be the songs. But now i would recommend it for a large group. For personal listening i hardly go over 1/3 turn Also I have noticed that even at max volume i don't hear any distortion, which i did on other portable speakers.
