Cisco SR2024T 24 port 10/100/1000 Gigabit Switch Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)I recently upgraded my home network from 100 Mbps to 1 Gbps ethernet. My network is rather large and has a large number of AV devices on it as well as computers, servers, and several video game consoles. I use Crestron throughout my house to control A/V, HVAC, and other things which can be network intensive. Prior to installing this switch my installers tried to go with a lower budget option. We had several issues and device lockups. Fortunately, I was able to quickly ascertain that our "low budget" switch was the issue. I ordered this switch from Amazon and swapped it in and have had absolutely NO problems since even under very heavy load. It makes absolutely NO sense to buy a cheap switch unless you do not value your system integrity or your time. I absolutely recommend this product and am very happy with it.

Cisco SG200-26 24 10/100/1000 Ports, Gigabit Ethernet Smart Switch, 2 Combo Mini-GBIC Ports, Warranty, One Year Tech Support - SLM2024TNA Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)I owned this Cisco Router for only 3 days, and so far it has met most of my expectations. The ability to control ports and name them made organization much simple. So instead of having little stickies on the wire. Now you can tell which box it is connected to right through the Web UI.
Configuration out of the box was a little retarded. Most router/switch I dealt with before once you save your preference, unplugging it would not mean resetting to factory. The switch requires you to save different profile of preferences, There is a loading preference, there is a running preference, and there is a start up preference. I guess I never had a managed or smart switch before, these might be a norm.
Beyond the Web UI, this is pretty much your regular switch that requires no extra configuration. Plug a wire in and expect it to work. In my case that is not quite true. With one of my windows 7 box, there was some funky things where the port would constantly reset until I put it on Auto-Negotiation.
This box is actually a 26 port switch. The two side port can be used as regular or uplink ports.

Cisco ESW-540-48-K9 24 10/100/1000 Ethernet ports and 4 expansion ports Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)Good basic gigabit switch.
Cisco has eliminated the need to use the Cisco CLI as now it is all web based.
Easy to install and get uplinked to your network. Nice to have the GBIC option too.
No complaints,it just works.

Cisco SG200-26P Switch 24 10/100/1000 Ports, Gigabit Ethernet Smart Switch, PoE, 2 Combo Mini-GBIC Ports, Warranty, One Year Tech Support - SLM2024PTNA Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)First the very good:
A) SERIOUSLY FAST! FAST! FAST!
B) 8 GIGABIT PORTS!
C) HAS A POWER "SYSTEM" LIGHT TO INDICATE READYNESS.
D) HUGE RESET BUTTON!
E) 4 POWER-OVER-ETHERNET (POE) PORTS!
F) THE ABILITY TO COMBINE 2 PORTS (LAG) AS ONE FOR GREATER THROUGH-PUT TO ANOTHER ROUTER, DEVICE, OR SWITCH.
G) MANY WEB-INTERFACE MANAGEMENT FEATURES.
H) POSITIVE-LOCKING POWER CONNECTOR.
Now for the very bad:
A) NEEDS A BUILT-IN POWER SUPPLY!
B) THE POWER BRICK IS A BRICK!
C) THE OUTPUT WIRE FROM THE POWER BRICK IS THE THINNIST AND FLIMSIEST I HAVE EVER SEEN! I'M AFRAID IT WILL BREAK FROM IT'S OWN WEIGHT. NOT JOKING.
D) THE BULKY POWER CONNECTOR AND RESET BUTTON ARE INCONVIENTLY PLACED ON THE RIGHT SIDE INSTEAD OF THE BACK! (WHY?)
E) IT SEEMS SMALL BUT BECAUSE OF BOTH THE BULKY POWER JACK AND RESET BUTTON ON THE RIGHT SIDE, PLACEMENT IS RATHER AKWARD.
Very fast but bad power cable, brick, connector placement.
