(More customer reviews)Well this is going to be the complete story as I seek to help out some buyers out there. I'm moving to a new condo come August. I'm in need of 3 sound systems. 1 dedicated to music and 2 to movies and games. I already had an acoustimass 10 with a pair of Bose 161 & a martin logan dynamo to complete a 7.2 system running on a Yamaha RXV667. This is to give you an idea of what we are comparing the SLS to. I was eager to get a klipsch quintet set for 500 bucks but wasn't still sure they would do the job. Inept on researching and found in YouTube a video comparing the kipsch speakers to the SLS. I went back to amazon and researched the SLS and got a bargain of 7 speakers at 200 bucks. After watching the video and getting to know all about the materials they were made of, and their size, I decided to give them a try.
I bought an rxv567 to go with them. These are 4 ohm rated speakers and the yamaha is designed to run 6 ohm and up. I even talked tomthe guys at av express who actually sell them and they told me it was safe to drive them with any rxv. I was nervous I would kill the amplifier, so I researched even further and even Martin Logan speakers hat are 4 ohm are safe to drive with a 6 ohm amplifier. You really need to run the amplifier at really loud volumes or through long periods of time

If you are concerned with size , these have a rather small form factor but they are larger than the Bose 161. Be mindful of your available space for they will not fit everywhere, but still they are not as large a bookshelf.
These speakers come with their own stand or they have an option to hang them on he wall or to place them horizontally or vertically. They also come with speaker wire gauge 16 color coded to each speaker which is nice
They are really sturdy and rather heavy, the center channel is particulary heavy weighting around 9 pounds. The other satellites weight about 7 pounds.
Well as for the most important factor, sound is awesome. It has a very neat balance between high tones and mid bass. High tones are crystal clear and not at all harsh on your ear, however you really need a sub for this speakers. They sound nice on their own but they will never hit low notes unless you help them.
I have only tested them once with the brand new rxv567 set up out of the box I'll let you know my thoughts once I completely set them up in my new condo, sub and all.
They are currently out of stock at av express but I really hope they restock it soon cause I'm going back for more. At 89 dollars a pair you can't go wrong with these. They are just amazing!!!
