Just received this and am extremely pleased. In the past, I had bought $1000+ in-dash nav systems for my cars. I've always been a fan of Pioneer's UI so when I heard about the iPhone/Pandora/MotionX GPS functionality I was immediately sold. Why spend an extra $500+ on a nav equipped unit when your smartphone already has it built in? You need to charge your phone while in the car anyway. In addition, I actually find it much easier to input what I'm looking for on my phone so it's a win/win all around
The othe reviewer stated his frustration with the lack of bluetooth. Does he knows there are othe units with this built in? Either way, I feel it's a waste. Unless you've got a luxury car with great sound insulation, nobody's going to hear you. I've had 2 other pioneer BT equipped units (on a Mazda and Honda) and never used it. Always reverted to the headset instead. I supposed it would be nice to see this information on the screen... then again, that's not really a deal-breaker to me. Also, BT audio is pointless (when you have an ipod cable) since the quality isn't quite as good so... again, BT just isn't necessary.
Last but not least... My only knock on this unit is the lack of a physical knob. JVC makes some similar units but all of them have the USB jack on the front. This is a deal-breaker for me and should be for you too. Trust me when I say... you do not want to plug your cable into the front. It's relatively ok for an aux cable since those aren't meant to stay in permanently. iPhone cables, on the other hand, are. Be sure to get one with a USB jack on the back.

Paradigm Cinema 90 CT 5.1 Home Theater Surround Sound System (Black) Review

Paradigm Cinema 90 CT 5.1 Home Theater Surround Sound System (Black)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This system is far better than any big-box brand name system I've listened to.
Before purchasing this system I auditioned a Sony Bravia system and one of Paradigm's upper end systems. The Sony system sounded small and tinny and the subwoofer shook the floor but didn't provide good sound. I couldn't tell if the Sony system really provided better sound than my television speakers. The Paradigm $3000 monitor system I listened to was excellent but I got cold feet at the last minute about the price tag and the additional space requirements of having big speakers in a small living room.
The Cinema speakers are small but they do not sound small and they don't take up much space in your living room or bedroom. If you have a huge room or a dedicated theater then you might want to invest more money in your speakers. However, if you want a terrific entry level system, this is a really good one that won't make you feel like you're missing out on something.
I'm very pleased with my purchase.

We've used several of these at our work. They work well in an enterprise setting, with good QoS capabilities. Another 2960 version is powered over the Ethernet cable using PoE, which means you could put one of these in the ceiling or somewhere where there are no power outlets.

I bought these speakers to replace my old Infinty Entra Point Five system. I looked at a few from Bose and Polk before going with these. First off the sub kicks out some Serious bass! The center does a great with vocals also. I bought an extra surround speaker so I could run a 6.1 setup. Im very impressed with Infinity once again. Great sound for a great price.

Only problem I've had found is when you try to set the Weather (under the menu/Web Applications), I get an network connection error no matter what "City name" or "ZIP code" I introduce... and my network and settings are well configured.

Panasonic BB-HCM511A Network Camera with Two-Way Audio Review

Panasonic BB-HCM511A Network Camera with Two-Way Audio
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
For a while the Panasonic BL-C111a and BL-C131a were my favorite of the Panasonic lineup for monitoring the pets and vacation house. Now I discovered the BB-HCM511A and this amazing little cam is THE BEST! It has a 1/4" CCD detector instead of a 1/6" CMOS in many of the other models. I can get a night time view of the ranch because the CMOS goes down to 0.2 lux instead of 3 lux. That's about the limit of human night vision, or a moonlit night. I couldn't do that before with the BL-C111a cam that this replaced. Also the CMOS sensor has much better dynamic range, which simply means more colors. So whereas with the BL-C111a the shades of green on the plants look flat, the BB-HCM5111a gives the scene much more definition with all different shades: slightly bluish green, slightly reddish green etc. and this has the visual effect as if it had greater resolution. I love the PoE feature because I can just run a network cable without running a separate power cable. To take advantage of this you need a cheap PoE injector or a fancier switch that supports PoE. I use the SMC GS8P-Smart switch for PoE, which is a newer model router with good reviews. I also use the CoconutView Vista sidebar gadget so I can always see all of my Panasonic cams on my desktop. To download this gadget go to the Microsoft Windows Live Gallery on the web and search for CoconutView or Panasonic. There's also an outdoor model, the BB-HCM531a but it's almost twice as expensive and from the installation manual it appears that the BB-HCM531a just has a cover on the back that you screw on and tape over the cables to protect the connectors from moisture. So I think this one is a better value for placing under eaves and protected outdoor sites, unless your plan to install it where it will be directly exposed to pouring rain. Ok just buy it, you will be happy with this cam.

Panasonic LUMIX G 20mm f/1.7 Aspherical Pancake Lens for Micro Four Thirds Interchangeable Lens Cameras Review

Panasonic LUMIX G 20mm f/1.7 Aspherical Pancake Lens for Micro Four Thirds Interchangeable Lens Cameras
Average Reviews:

If you own an E-P1, you absolutely owe it to yourself to get this lens right now. I used to own the 17mm and loved its size, but found the image quality lacking. There are plenty of detailed reviews of this 20mm lens out there so I'll spare the tech details.
I've had this for a little over a week and the performance is just amazing. Auto focus speed is very good, not super speedy, but definitely not slow. Images look sharp even wide open with lovely bokeh. It's not quite as nice as the Panasonic/Leica 25mm 1.4 for 4/3, but it is half the price and 1/4 of the size.
I have some good glass like the Olympus 50mm f2 and Olympus 14-52 mark II 2.8-3.5 via the adapter, but those will probably stay on my E-620 since this Panasonic 20mm fits the E-P1 like a glove.
It's amazing how this lens makes the E-P1 come alive like no other lens I've used on it before.
UPDATE 7/12/2010
It's getting close to one year of full use and this lens is still unmatched for native micro four thirds. I now use it on an E-PL1 and it's still working it's magic. With the latest Olympus firmware update for the E-PL1 (available for E-P1 and EP2 as well) the autofocus speed of the 20mm is even faster! As my photographic skill have increased over the month, I've been able to get even better results.

TDK Life on Record 77000015360 3-Speaker Boombox Audio System Review

TDK Life on Record 77000015360 3-Speaker Boombox Audio System
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Well built, beautiful, and sounds amazing. Very big and heavy. Sometimes when listening to iPod with the power supply it crashes. The aux cable provided is very thin and cheap, gets bad connection sometimes, have to play with it to make it stop buzzing. Overall I love this thing, one of the best things I ever owned.
Pros
Sound Quality (makes things shake)
Built Quality (very heavy and well constructed)
Looks (shiny and sexy retro look)
Cons
No Remote
No Rechargeable Batteries
No SD Card Slot
No Bluetooth
No CD Player (I know CD's are getting old but still the size of this thing is, it could have a sliding CD reader)
Drains batteries even when off. (I think might be because I left UBS stick in it)
Doesn't recognize Apple music files when played through USB hard drive.
Bass sound quality goes down with volume. Best sound quality is at 50%-75%.This thing would be perfect with internal hard drive or SD Card slot(removable upgradable hard drive), a removable rechargeable battery (or make it so you can recharge the 12 D batteries in it without taking them out), a remote, and a CD player. And also maybe a better ipod/iphone connection, maybe a dock like feature. Why can't engineers ever develop something to perfection, they always leave something out. I think the speakers can handle more amplification, so they could of made it to run on more power when powered from AC.
I would highly recommend this product to everybody. Best Boombox Ever.

Sharp LC40LE830U Quattron 40-inch 1080p 120 Hz LED-LCD HDTV, Black Review

Sharp LC40LE830U Quattron 40-inch 1080p 120 Hz LED-LCD HDTV, Black
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I shopped around for awhile trying to decide between plasma and LED. I went to a few stores to see the TVs in person and to compare all the different brands and features. I had seen commercials for the Sharp Quattron so I specifically wanted to check it out.
Hands down the Quattron has the best, brightest, and clearest picture amongst the LED/LCDs. I looked at all the plasmas which just seemed so dull compared to the LEDs and specifically the Quattron. I wanted the LED because it weighed less, consumed less energy, was brighter, and didn't have the risk of burn in or a plasma TV hum, or the glare issue everyone is talking about. It comes down to personal preference really and the debate will never end over which technology is better. But you CAN use facts to determine which to purchase. If you don't care about viewing angle, and want a brighter picture, lower weighing and power consuming product, then you choose LED. The newest LEDs really do have good black levels compared to prior years LCDs.
The Quattron's colors truly are more crisp and richer than even other LEDs that I compared it to--it was so obvious with all of them side by side (especially with scenes containing yellow). I found the colors to be pretty realistic, true, bold, and rich. Some reviews I read were saying how the colors seemed unreal or fake. You be the judge. You can calibrate this TV however you want so each to his own with regards to color. I left it on standard and everything looked great right out of the box.
It isn't as "fast" on paper as some of the 240hz models (mainly those with 3d), but it doesn't need to be. I'm not worried about motion because my 3 year old regular LCD with 120hz from samsung handled sports and motion just fine, and this TV does as well. As the other reviewer was stating, this 120hz motion engine is a beast. It, at times, makes you feel like you are on the set the movement is so smooth. Sometimes it may seem artificial its so realistic/smooth as he was stating so you can turn down some of the effects depending on what you are watching. I've compared this movement to other TVs and the movement is *consistent* on this TV and has no blur, whereas on some other LED/LCDs you will notice edge blur even on regular shows and I'd hate to see those on sports.
I'm upgrading from a 46" Samsung Touch of Color that was top of the line back in 2008 and this 40" Sharp blows it out of the water in every way. I'm going to be upgrading to the 46" version of the Quattron since I love it so much.
Network setup was easy, it found my home wireless network. I was really impressed by the built in wi-fi. I didn't even have to configure anything. I just turned the TV on, it found my network, and immediately asked if I wanted to upgrade to the latest software/firmware. The Netflix and other apps work fine, but honestly just about EVERY device now has all these built in apps (my ps3, blue player, and now the TV). So I prefer to use the apps via my PS3 to take the burden, if any, from the TV. Sound is plenty for this TV, but you can obviously upgrade to a home theatre system. I was satisfied with the built in sound and it was plenty loud for my needs.
Bottom line is this is a very high quality LED. I have never invested in a Sharp product. I've always stuck with Samsung, but this TV has won me over. It is so high quality from the TV to the remote control (love it). You see this quality in the price, and with TVs, you get what you pay for.
Final verdict? I am completely satisfied with this TV. It's very thin, light weight, bright, gives an awesome picture, and has good audio. If you want this caliber of a TV, but don't need the built in Wi-Fi (for many reasons), you can save money and get the 810 series. If you want all the bells and whistles get the 830 series, and if you want everything plus the 3D, try the 835 series.

Sony MHCGX99 Mini Hi-Fi Component System with 3-Disc CD Changer and Powered Subwoofer Review

Sony MHCGX99 Mini Hi-Fi Component System with 3-Disc CD Changer and Powered Subwoofer
Average Reviews:

Radio has good channel separation and good sound on FM. I use it in my office.
Things I liked:
It has super power (enough to run you out of the room).
The remote is easy to use
Plays MP3 on the cd player
Price was fair for the sound quality.
Some of the things I wish it had but doesn't:
1. More inputs, there is only one mini-plug input. I have a tape deck, and stream from my computer but there is no input for the tape machine.
2. Tuneable EQ...Equalizer is pre-configured for five or so different options. There's no way to tweak it further. I wish there was a way I could add more highs.
3. Sub woofer doesn't turn off when the unit is off. It's plugged into a different outlet and stays on all the time.
I listen to this every day in the office and it's great for that purpose.

Works as advertised. My only warning is to know that there are different frequency models and that is not communicated well. The frequency listings are shown as Sizes. If you are in the USA, get the L4 frequency as the H5 frequency model is for Europe. Nowhere on the description is this mentioned and I ordered the wrong one the first time and could not figure out why the Microphone would not work with my Shure sound system. Squeezebox Wireless Network Music Player, Black Review

Squeezebox Wireless Network Music Player, Black
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Why are audiophiles buzzing about this inexpensive product? It is the first mass consumer unit to sound as good as much more expensive audio products. I had it up and running with my wireless network in 15 minutes, and was simply stunned by how good it sounded playing my music on computer. Even the internet radio playing through this unit sounded better than any standard radio tuner. Read my experience at musicserver.blogspot.com
I have a huge investment in my current audio system (more than $20k). I read about the Squeezebox on one of the audiophile websites, and was intrigued by having all my music accessible on a computer, but with sound quality to match my high end CD player. After a month of living with the Squeezebox, I can confirm how good it sounds, how simple it is to set up, and how versatile it is. I have not turned on my $3000 CD transport in 2 weeks, and plan on selling it shortly.
I encourage anyone ready to set up a computer system to visit my blog at musicserver.blogspot.com to see how easy it was to set up your music collection on a computer.
For the 95% of people out there who don't understand or care about audiophile quality sound, don't worry. A stock Squeezebox playing your music stored on your computer will sound better than anything you can buy for any reasonable amount of money.
For the uninitiated, a Squeezebox is part of a system of storing your CD collection on computer, and you use the Squeezebox to access/browse your computerized music collection. You need a computer, of course, and to get the best sound quality, you need to rip your music using a high quality format, like WAV or Apple Lossless or FLAC. It works with computers running Windows, Linux or Apple operating systems, and it does not require an expensive computer. Many users are running it with a laptop! It connects to your computer either wirelessly (using built in wifi connection) or via an ethernet cable.
After a month of playing with this unit, I cannot see how I could ever go back to using a CD player. I love being able to tune in and listen to Internet radio stations without having my computer turned on. I bought another Squeezebox for the family home theater system; now my wife can play my collection without me having to worry about misplaced cd's or the kids scratching CD's!!
For hardcore audiophiles who are dubious about how an inexpensive box can compete with separates, read my blog. This box is the real deal, and when upgraded (and particularly when used with your favorite high end external DAC), it is awesome!!! If you don't have or don't want a external DAC, the Squeezebox can be modified by a number of companies to upgrade the existing DAC and produce sound quality to rival top high end players.
The audiophile press and internet gurus are abuzz about this product for good reason. I was pretty skeptical, but it was so cheap I figured I had little to lose. I am not one to gush about gear, but this box is just phenomenal!!! I've rediscovered my music.
